Social media platforms each have their own video upload limits and recommendations, but they all share one truth: uploading an oversized video means the platform will re-compress it aggressively, destroying your video quality. Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, and YouTube all apply their own compression on upload. If you feed them a massive file, their compression is harsh. Feed them a well-optimized file, and the platform compression is much gentler -- your video looks noticeably better in the feed.
