Use Cases

Share iPhone Photos

Most Windows PCs, old Android phones, and many websites cannot open HEIC files directly. Convert before sharing so recipients can actually see the photo.

Upload to Job Portals & Forms

Employment portals, government forms, and school submission systems usually accept JPG but reject HEIC. Convert your headshot or document photo before uploading.

Edit in Non-Apple Software

Photoshop on older versions, GIMP, and many web editors do not read HEIC. Convert to JPG first and edit with any tool.

How It Works

1

Open the Converter

Drop your file in the Image Converter — single file or batch of up to 50.

2

Pick Output Format

Choose the target format and adjust quality if needed. Preview the file size before confirming.

3

Get the converted file or a zip of all results, ready to share or upload.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my iPhone saving photos as HEIC instead of JPG?
iOS defaults to HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) to save storage space. HEIC files are about half the size of JPG at the same quality. You can switch to JPG in Settings > Camera > Formats > Most Compatible, but existing photos stay HEIC until converted.
Will the converted JPG lose quality?
Some quality loss is inherent in JPG compression, but at quality 85-90 the difference is imperceptible on most photos. Both HEIC and JPG are lossy formats — the practical difference is file size and compatibility, not visual quality.
Will the JPG be larger than the original HEIC?
Yes, usually 1.5-2x larger. HEIC is a newer format with better compression, but JPG is more universally supported. If file size matters and the recipient supports HEIC, keep it as HEIC.
Do I need special software to convert HEIC?
No. This tool uses your browser to decode HEIC through the heic2any library. You do not need to install Apple software, Photoshop, or any converter app. Works the same way on Windows, Linux, and Chromebook as on Mac.
Can I convert Live Photos?
Live Photos contain an HEIC still frame plus a short MOV video. This tool converts the still frame to JPG. The video component is not preserved — if you need the motion, export the Live Photo as a video from the Photos app first.
