About This Skill

Fact Checker is a verification skill that systematically validates claims, statistics, and statements by cross-referencing them against multiple independent sources. It produces detailed verdicts with confidence ratings and source links for every checked claim.

How It Works

  1. Claim extraction — Parses the input text to identify specific factual claims, statistics, quotes, and attributions that can be independently verified
  2. Multi-source search — For each claim, searches 3-5 independent sources including academic databases, official statistics, and reputable news outlets
  3. Evidence evaluation — Assesses source quality, recency, and agreement to determine claim validity
  4. Verdict assignment — Labels each claim as Confirmed, Disputed, Unverified, or False with a confidence percentage
  5. Report generation — Produces a structured report linking each claim to its supporting or contradicting evidence
