Literature Review Agent conducts rigorous, systematic literature reviews following PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. It handles the most time-consuming aspects of academic research — searching, screening, extracting, and synthesizing.
Review Process
1. Search Strategy Development Generates a comprehensive Boolean search query from your research question, covering synonyms, related terms, and field-specific vocabulary. Targets Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, PubMed, and arXiv.
2. Screening and Inclusion Applies your inclusion/exclusion criteria to filter retrieved papers: - Publication date range - Study type (empirical, review, meta-analysis, theoretical) - Minimum citation count (proxy for impact) - Language filter
3. Data Extraction For each included paper extracts: - Research question and objectives - Methodology and study design - Sample characteristics - Key findings and effect sizes - Limitations acknowledged by authors
4. Synthesis and Gaps Organizes findings thematically, identifies areas of consensus and contradiction, and explicitly maps research gaps — the most valuable output for positioning new research.
