What is the difference between AI and Fast mode?
AI Enhanced uses a neural network for intelligent upscaling — it adds realistic detail and sharpness. Fast mode uses bicubic interpolation (simple pixel stretching) which is instant but produces blurrier results. AI mode takes 5-30 seconds depending on image size.
Can I upscale multiple images at once?
Yes! Select multiple files at once or add more after the first upload. Each image is processed sequentially with per-file progress. You can download results individually or all at once.
Why does AI mode take longer?
The AI model processes your image through a neural network with millions of parameters. First-time use downloads a ~20MB model file (cached for future use). After that, processing time depends on your image size and device performance.
What scale options are available?
Both 2x and 4x scaling are available in both modes. 2x doubles width and height (4x total pixels). 4x in AI mode applies the model twice for maximum quality.
Is there a size limit for AI mode?
For best results with AI mode, use images under 1024x1024 pixels. Larger images are automatically resized before AI processing to keep browser performance reasonable. Fast mode has no practical limit.
What output format do I get?
You can download as PNG, JPEG, or WebP. PNG preserves quality without compression artifacts.
Is my image data private?
Yes. All processing — including AI upscaling — happens entirely in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
