FAQ

What image formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF files are all supported. Each image becomes one page in the output PDF. WebP offers excellent compression for modern web images, while GIF support lets you convert animated or static GIFs (first frame is used for animated GIFs).
Can I reorder images before creating the PDF?
Yes! After adding your images, drag and drop thumbnails to change the page order. A blue insertion line shows exactly where the image will be placed.
What page sizes are available?
Choose from Auto (fits page to image dimensions), A4 (210 x 297 mm), or US Letter (8.5 x 11 in). Orientation is auto-detected per image based on aspect ratio, or you can set it manually.
Can I add margins?
Yes. Choose from no margin, small (0.5 in / 12.7 mm), or medium (1 in / 25.4 mm) margins. When using A4 or Letter size, the image is centered within the margins.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. All processing happens in your browser using pdf-lib. Your images never leave your device.
How do I convert WebP or GIF images to PDF?
Drag and drop your WebP or GIF files directly onto the upload area, or click "browse" and select them. They are processed the same way as JPEG and PNG — each image becomes one page. For animated GIFs, only the first frame is embedded. If your WebP file contains transparency, it is preserved in the PDF.
How many images can I combine into one PDF?
There is no hard limit. You can add as many images as needed. In practice, performance depends on your device — adding hundreds of large images may slow the browser. For very large batches, try processing them in groups and then using the Merge PDF tool to combine the results.
How is this different from using "Print to PDF"?
Browser "Print to PDF" gives you limited control over page sizes and margins. This tool lets you choose A4, Letter, or auto-fit, set margins, reorder pages, and control orientation per image — all before generating the PDF.
Can I convert the PDF pages back to images?
Yes. Use our <a href="/ai/pdf/to-jpg">PDF to JPG</a> converter to extract each page as a high-quality image in JPG, PNG, or WebP format.
Can I compress the output PDF?
Yes. If the resulting PDF is too large (common with high-resolution photos), use our <a href="/ai/pdf/compress">PDF Compressor</a> to reduce the file size while keeping images readable.
Does the tool preserve image EXIF data?
No. EXIF metadata (camera settings, GPS coordinates) is stripped during the conversion. Only the pixel data is embedded in the PDF.
What is the maximum image resolution supported?
There is no hard limit, but very large images (e.g., 8000x6000px) require significant browser memory. If you experience slowness, resize your images first using our <a href="/ai/image/resize">Image Resizer</a>.
Can I add page numbers to the output PDF?
Not directly in this tool. Create the PDF first, then use our <a href="/ai/pdf/page-numbers">Page Numbers</a> tool to add numbering in your preferred style and position.
