FAQ

How does color extraction work?
The tool analyzes your image pixel by pixel using Canvas, then groups similar colors using a median-cut quantization algorithm to find the dominant colors.
How many colors are extracted?
By default 6 colors. You can choose 4, 6, 8, or 12 colors.
What format are the color values?
HEX (#FF5733), RGB (rgb(255,87,51)), and HSL values are shown for each color. Click to copy any format.
What input formats are supported?
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, SVG, and BMP.
Is my image uploaded?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser using Canvas.
Can I use this for design projects?
Yes — extract a color palette from any photo or reference image to use in your designs, websites, or branding.
Does it work with photos?
Yes. Photos, illustrations, logos, screenshots — any image works.
Can I export the palette?
Click "Copy All" to get all HEX codes, or click individual colors to copy.
Is there a file size limit?
Images up to 4000x4000 pixels work well. Larger images are downscaled for analysis.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Upload, extract, and copy colors on any device.
How accurate is the extraction?
Very accurate for dominant colors. Comparable to Coolors.co but runs entirely in your browser with no upload. The median-cut algorithm is the same approach used by professional design tools.
Can I use it with screenshots?
Yes. Great for extracting a UI color palette from a website screenshot or app design.
Does it handle gradients?
Yes. The algorithm samples across the entire image and identifies the most prominent color ranges.
Is it free?
Yes. Completely free, no signup.
Can I pay with crypto?
