What kind of prompts work best?

Be specific about subject, setting, lighting, style, and mood. "A golden retriever sitting in a sunlit meadow, oil painting style, warm afternoon light" works much better than "dog in field." Include artistic direction when you have a vision.

Can I use generated images commercially?

Yes. Images generated through DALL-E 3 can be used for commercial purposes. You own the rights to the images you create. Check OpenAI's usage policies for the latest terms.

Why was my prompt rejected?

DALL-E 3 has content safety filters that block prompts requesting violent, sexual, hateful, or deceptive content (e.g., deepfakes of real people). Revise your prompt to avoid restricted content and try again.
